ECU Head Coach Ricky Stokes
"We wanted to come out and play aggressively. We saw that the pressure was bothering them some, so we moved to some full court press."
"It was great to see Jeremy get off to a great start, hitting some big shots and making some big steals which lead to some easy baskets. We wanted to continue fast start in the second half and for the most part we did. During the half, we talked about getting the ball inside to Corey and let him use his athleticism."
"I'm pleased with the win and to get back on track. Hopefully this will give us some confidence as we look forward to a difficult game Saturday against UNC-Wilmington."
On Offensive play:
"Over the last two weeks we have really been stressing to the guys to put more pressure on the ball. We are a little bit better offensively, but we have to figure a way to limit unforced turnovers. Right now that is really hurting on the offensive end. We also need to get better on shooting free throws. If we can take care of that, our play will look and be smoother."
ECU Sophomore Jeremy Ingram
On being in a zone in the first half with 23 points:
"In the first half I was kind of in a zone. All the preparation that we put forth this week, paid off and helped us get over the hump."
On playing again with Corey Rouse:
"It was just like old times playing out there with Corey. This is something that we did a lot of in high school and it was good to get back out there and play together and we hope to continue throughout the season."
On this weekend's game against UNC Wilmington:
"This is going to be a great game because of the rivalry. From what I have been told, when our two schools match-up, it is always a hard fought game and hopefully we can come out with win."
ECU Senior Corey Rouse
On playing again with Jeremy Ingram:
"It feels great to be playing out there once again with my best friend. It's just like playing back in high school, where we would just run up and down the court, playing hard and having fun."
On down-low play:
"In the last few games teams were taking us out of our game. Tonight we started to see guys open underneath and it worked out for us."
On the starting five play:
"The starting five we played tonight is real athletic and gets after it every time down the court. There are some things that we still need to work on like defense and communication, but it is a great group."
