GREENVILLE, N.C. -- In the midst of a four-game losing streak, East Carolina (10-6, 1-4) looks to snap that streak in front of its home crowd Saturday night against South Florida at 7 p.m. There is no live television scheduled for the game, but can be heard across the 26-station Pirate Sports Network throughout the Carolinas and Virginia with Jeff Charles and Si Seymour calling the action.

East Carolina is coming off a tough loss to Cincinnati at home on Wednesday night. The loss was the Pirates' second consecutive setback at home, where they are 6-3 this season. Three Pirates scored in double figures led by junior Gabriel Mikulas' 15 points. Sophomore Moussa Badiane and Freshman Belton Rivers added 13 points each for East Carolina. Despite holding the Bearcats to 32 percent shooting in the second half, the Pirates couldn't overcome their own 28 percent shooting performance in the first half as ECU fell to 0-4 all-time against Cincinnati.

South Florida (9-6, 2-2) has not played since defeating Memphis at the Pyramid this past Saturday, 75-74, snapping a seven-game losing streak to the Tigers. Four players scored in double figures for the Bulls led by Jimmy Baxter's team-high 22 points. Will McDonald and Reggie Kohn each contributed 16 points, while freshman Yusuf Baxter recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Saturday's game will be the first-ever meeting between East Carolina and South Florida.

On the Line For the Pirates

  • The Pirates will be looking to a snap a four-game slide and avoid back-toback- to-back home losses since losing to Georgia, UNC Asheville and William & Mary during the 1997-98 season.
  • ECU will be looking for its 11th win of the season on Saturday night. The Pirates didn't win their 11th game of the 2001-02 campaign until Feb. 23.
