Maurice Kemp Named Second-Team All-District 11
March 26, 2013
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - East Carolina senior Maurice Kemp was named to the 2012-13 Men's Basketball All-District 11 Second Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Tuesday.
This marks Kemp's second postseason honor for the 2012-13 season. He was named to the All-Conference USA first team, by league head coaches and a panel of media voters. It marked the first time an ECU player earned first team All-Conference USA honors.
Kemp leads Pirates in scoring with a Conference USA-best 18.8 points per game. He has scored 20 or more points in 16 of 32 games played this season and led the Pirates in scoring 22 times. He is one of only three players in school history to score 600 points in a season and the first to average over 18 points per game since 1988. He ranks among the C-USA top 10 in rebounds, steals, blocks and field goal percentage.
East Carolina continues postseason play tonight in the CollegeInsiders.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) quarterfinals against Loyola (Md.). The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
