July 17, 2012
GREENVILLE, N.C. - Season tickets for the 2012-13 East Carolina men's basketball campaign are now available for purchase at the ECU Athletics Ticket Office and at ecupirates.com. Season tickets packages start at $100 with the Economy and Young Graduate Plans.
Pirate Club Priority and Faculty/Staff packages are also available and range from $180-$220. The priority deadline to order season tickets is August 1. Fans and donors who purchase season tickets by the deadline will have the opportunity to select their own seats as a part of this year's reseating structure. Each men's season ticket purchased includes a women's basketball season ticket as well.
The Pirates return four of their top five scorers including second-team All-Conference USA guard Miguel Paul - the league's assist leader. Paul (15.2 ppg) and Maurice Kemp (10.5 ppg) give the Pirates a pair of returning double digit scorers and two of the league's top returning steals leaders. The Pirates also return two of their top three rebounders, Kemp (6.3 rpg) and Robert Sampson (5.2) along with their best 3-point shooter, Shamarr Bowden. Bowden is one of only two returning players in C-USA to shoot over 40 percent (.404) from behind the arc last season.
East Carolina averaged 16.5 wins during coach Jeff Lebo's initial two years, the first time that the Pirates have accumulated a mean of more than 15 wins in consecutive seasons since the mid-1990s.
