Men's Basketball Visits The Oakwood School
Sept. 23, 2008 GREENVILLE, N.C. --- All 14 members of the East Carolina men's basketball team visited with students in a fifth grade class at the Oakwood School in Greenville on Tuesday. The Pirate players spent approximately one hour helping the kids with their assignments, while answering many questions about their hobbies and habits off the court. The players also stressed the importance of doing well in school. "It was a lot of fun to come out here today and spend some time with these kids," said senior guard Sam Hinnant. "I think its important for us as student-athletes to find ways to reach out and give back to our community."
Oakwood School is a private co-educational school for grades kindergarten to high school.
