Fans Have Two Opportunities to Meet The Basketball Pirates

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The East Carolina men and women's basketball teams will take part in the popular pre-football game celebration, Freeboot Friday, on Oct. 18 at the Five Points Plaza in uptown Greenville.

The teams will be introduced to the crowd at approximately 6 p.m. and will be distributing schedule and ticket information, while mingling with fans until 6:30 p.m. There will also be t-shirt and season ticket giveaways.

Fans will also have the opportunity to interact with the student-athletes prior to Saturday's football game against Southern Miss. The teams will be signing autographs between gates five and six outside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium from 11-11:45 a.m. Tours of the practice courts, locker rooms and lounges at the Smith-Williams Center will be given from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Fans are asked to use the main entrance of the building to participate in the tours.

Men's basketball season tickets for the 2013-14 campaign start at $100 for the Economy and Graduate Plans. Discounted season tickets are also available for ECU faculty and staff members. All men's basketball season ticket purchases include season tickets for women's basketball.

Single-game tickets will be available for purchase online at ECUPirates.com beginning Monday, Oct. 28 at 9 a.m., as will sales by phone and in-person.

Tickets can be purchased online through the ECU Online Ticket Center. They can also be bought by calling 1-800-DIAL-ECU (342-5328) or locally at (252) 737-4500 or in-person at the ECU Athletics Ticket Office located behind Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

The 2013-14 campaign opens for both teams at home Friday, Nov. 8. The women's team hosts Virginia Intermont at 12 noon before the men tip-off their season against N.C. Wesleyan at 8 p.m.
