I STARTED PLAYING BASKETBALL when I was a year old. My parents bought me a Little Tikes hoop and I was playing before I was walking.

PLAYING HOOPS AS A KID was a lot easier than it is now. It was all fun. Now it’s a lot of hard work, but I’m still having fun with it. My dad used to take me with him to the gym all the time. I thought he was the greatest player alive. I wanted to be like him.

I WOULD DESCRIBE MY GAME AS versatile. I’ve always been a scorer, but I’m trying to become a more well-rounded player, a better defender, and a better ball handler. I’ve always had the ability to shoot the ball, but I’m trying to expand my game to different area.

WHEN I FIRST MET COACH LEBO I was honored. When East Carolina started recruiting me I was new to the recruiting process, so I was taking it all in. I like Coach Lebo a lot; he’s a really cool guy. He’s a great teaching coach. He doesn’t yell a lot. I’m new to everything and he’s been working with me to make sure I learn the system. He’s been patient with me.

I DECIDED TO COME TO ECU because it had everything I was looking for. It has a great coach, great facilities, great campus, and great teammates. It had everything I needed and wanted academically. It had everything I was looking for.

THE TOUGHEST PART ABOUT BEING AWAY FROM HOME is being away from my parents. I miss them a lot. I was always a homebody and really close to them. It’s weird have been away from them so long. I miss my mom’s cooking too.

MY FAMILY is really supportive. They are all so proud of me. It’s really a blessing to be here. They’ve been in my corner 100 percent the whole time. I’m trying to get them all tickets to come out to the game, but there is just so many of them. My grandma has 12 kids on my mother’s side.

THE BIGGEST TRANSITION BETWEEN HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE ON THE COURT has been adjusting to the speed of the game. It’s a lot faster in college. Nothing compares to this level in high school. It’s a lot faster. The players are a lot taller, stronger, and smarter. I’ve been trying to get stronger and smarter and adjust my game.

THE BIGGEST TRANSITION BETWEEN HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE OFF THE COURT has been being away from home. I feel like I’ve adjusted well academically, so the biggest challenge has been being away from home.

I SECRETLY WISH I could make everything easier. I wish could go home whenever I wanted. When I taught something here I wish I could learn it and do it. I know a lot of these things take time and my homesick days will fade away. I wish I could make some things easier, but I know that’s not going to happen; it’s all hard work.

I LIKE TO draw. I started drawing when I was six years old, so I’ve gotten pretty good at it. I aspire to be as good a ballplayer as I am an artist and I believe I’ll get there some day.

BEFORE EVERY GAME I have scriptures on my shoes that I recite to myself.

MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY is Christmas. I get to spend a lot of time with my family with a lot of good food and gifts. It just has it all.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE is He Got Game with Denzel Washington and Ray Allen. I love basketball movies. It tells the story about how recruitment is for a lot of high school ballplayers. I think it’s a good story.

THE ONE THING EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ECU BASKETBALL is that the Pirate Nation is real. I didn’t know it until I got here, but Pirate Nation is really real. Everybody in Greenville is all about ECU basketball, ECU athletics. That’s one of the best thing about being here, the fans and all the support you get just from having on that jersey.
