Keith Foster Signs Letter-of-Intent To Attend ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Keith Foster, a 6-8, 215-pound power forward at R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. , has signed a national letter-of-intent to attend East Carolina University, according to an announcement by Pirate head coach Bill Herrion.

Foster, the only player to have played on each of Reynolds' three consecutive Class 4A state championship teams, averaged 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots per game as a junior last season and was named to the Winston-Salem Journal's All-Northwest team.

"We're very excited to have Keith Foster join our program," said Herrion. "We're getting a kid that not only knows how to win, but how to win championships. He's got a chance down the road to be a very physical basketball player in our program."

Foster, who chose East Carolina over Tennessee and Connecticut, helped the Demons to an overall record of 81-11 the past three seasons and started on each of the three previous championship squads.

"He's primarily a power forward, but quick enough to play small forward," said Reynolds head coach Howard West.

Foster is the first signee of the early period for the Pirates and the second signee out of Reynolds High School under Herrion. Senior Travis Holcomb-Faye, a two-year starter at Reynolds, was Herrion's first signee as the head basketball coach at ECU.
