Winners of three in a row, East Carolina will look to extend its streak to four games Tuesday night when it faces Old Dominion at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va.
East Carolina's only loss of the season came on the road Nov. 14 at Campbell, 76-74.
The Pirates have lost three straight in the series to the Monarchs and trail the all-time series 35-13. ECU is just 1-4 against ODU since leaving the CAA. Its last win in the series came in Norfolk on Dec. 4, 2002 (75-67).
East Carolina is off to its best five-game start since beginning the 2008-09 campaign at 4-1.
The Pirates are coming off their first 50-percent shooting performance of the season on Saturday. ECU made 31-of-60 field goal attempts (51.7%). It shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) in the first half and 45.5 percent (15-of-33) after halftime.
Junior Miguel Paul, who scored 20 points in the win over Chowan, is the only player this season to score double figures in all five games. Through games of Nov. 27, he led Conference USA in assists per game (5.8) and is tied for the lead in steals per game (2.0).
After being held to a total of 16 points in the first two games of the season, senior Darrius Morrow has scored at least 15 points in each of the last three games. He averaged 20 points per game during those games. Morrow is one of two players in Conference USA to shoot over 60 percent from the floor this season (.612).
Junior Erin Straughn missed tying his scoring career-high by one on Saturday against Chowan, netting 17 points. He established his personal-best scoring performance as a freshman at UTEP, dropping in 18 points.
The Pirates have held three opponents under 30 points in the first half this season, including two under 20. They have limited their opponents to less than 30 points in six halves.
East Carolina has held each of its first five opponents under their scoring average and under their season field goal percentage.
Either Miguel Paul or Darrius Morrow has led the Pirates in scoring each game this season, while Robert Sampson has been the team's top rebounder in three games.
Following Tuesday's game against Old Dominion, East Carolina will only have one road game remaining during non-conference play. The Pirates will travel to Greensboro to face UNCG at the Greensboro Coliseum on December 16.
East Carolina will return to Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum Saturday to face instate rival Charlotte at 5 p.m. The Pirates and 49ers split their two meetings last season with ECU winning at home and Charlotte claiming victory at the Charleston Classic.

Tuesday's meeting will be the 50th all-time game in the series. East Carolina and Old Dominion are meeting for the second consecutive season after taking a four-year hiatus from 2006-09. The two teams have met at least once a year in 14 of the past 19 years. Since leaving the CAA, ECU is just 1-4 against against the Monarchs.
