GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Six East Carolina players scored double digits as East Carolina defeated North Carolina A&T, 86-53, here Wednesday night. Derrick Wiley and Moussa Badiane scored 15 each to lead the Pirates.

ECU (4-1) built itself a 16-point lead just over 10 minutes into the game and was never threatened. The Pirates shot 49.1 percent for the game and led by as many as 35 late in the contest.

The Pirates held North Carolina A&T (0-5) to 29.3 percent shooting and forced the Aggies into 27 turnovers, 17 of which came before halftime.

After building a 40-19 halftime lead, ECU scored the first four points of the second half before the two teams traded baskets over the next five minutes. A&T pulled within 15 points with 12:08 remaining, but that was as close as it would get.

Senior Gabriel Mikulas scored 10 points in the game to become the 21st player in school history to net 1,000 career points.

ECU freshman Mike Cook reached double figures for the first time in his career, scoring 13 points. Senior Erroyl Bing and freshman Japhet McNeil also added 10 points each. Badiane led all players in rebounding with 11 boards to record his second double-double of the year in addition to blocking seven shots.

Sean Booker led the Aggies with 15 points, while Steve Koger netted 14.

The Pirates, the NCAA's leader in rebounding margin at 21.5 per game, won the battle of the boards once again, outrebounding N.C. A&T, 51-32.

ECU returns to action on Friday, Dec. 19 against Gardner-Webb. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
