2013: Was redshirted during true rookie campaign and spent fall on developmental roster.
High School: A four-year football letterman and team captain for coach Dale Barnes at West Davidson High School … An All-Central Carolina Conference selection and team MVP as a senior after recording 55 tackles and a pair of interceptions, returning one pick 75 yards for a touchdown … Also played four games at quarterback, throwing for 300-plus yards and a three scores … Named to The Dispatch’s All-County squad and was chosen to play in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game after senior campaign … Tallied 42 stops, two forced fumbles and an interception as a junior … Credited with 34 and 22 hits during sophomore and freshman seasons, respectively … Additionally, picked off a pair of passes in 2010 during second year in program … Was also a three-year basketball letterman (and team captain) as a shooting guard … Chosen to the All-Central Carolina Conference and garnered team MVP accolades on the hardwood … Enjoyed a 41-point performance to earn "Student Athlete-of-the-Week" by The Dispatch … Excelled in the classroom as a National Beta Club member … A four-year NCHSAA Scholar-Athlete performer … An North Carolina Academic Scholar … Earned Academic All-Star Award as selected by the NCHSAA and N.C.
