ECU Readies For Second Scrimmage

Work ethic, an unbridled commitment level and rapidly developing collegiate fundamental skills have enabled full-time depth chart standing heading into sophomore season ... Will open second active campaign on the ECU roster as Adhem Elsawi's top backup at the right tackle position, but has the flexibility to work on the left side and as an "overload" blocking tight end as well should depth become an issue during the season ... Could also serve a key line role on various special teams squads ... Despite limited experience, brings a level of maturity and coaching perspective beyond his years to the unit and program ...Suffered a left knee injury on April 5, a day before the first of three scrimmages, and was sidelined for the remainder of the spring ... Expected to be cleared in time for camp after the completion of rehabilitation work ... Posted one of the top three-cone drill marks (7.21) and 40 times (5.08) among all lineman during spring strength and conditioning testing ... Also turned in a notable pro agility drill time of 4.50 and added lifts of 490 pounds (back squat), 355 (bench press), 308 (power clean) and 275 (push jerk).

2012: Played in all 13 games during redshirt freshman season ...Experienced action on special teams, as a reserve lineman and as a tight end in certain packages, but did not record any statistics.

2011: Was redshirted as a true freshman and was considered a valuable member of the scout team preparing the Pirates' defensive line on a weekly basis ... Officially signed with ECU in February.
