Big-Play Offense, Turnover-Producing Defense Highlight First Scrimmage

Officially enrolled early at ECU in January of 2012 and participated in spring drills ... Expected to open the 2012 campaign competing with Lamar Ivey for the starting strong safety job ... After logging a tackle and pass breakup in the first pair of scrimmages, closed spring work by tallying two stops in the Purple-Gold Game on April 14 ... Inked a letter-of-intent with the Pirates during the December junior college signing period ... Strength and conditioning program testing produced a 1,194-watt jerk lift, a 320-pound bench press, a 440-pound back squat, a 286-pound power clean and a 35.5" vertical jump.

Junior College: A two-time Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State Honorable Mention selection who played in every game during two years with the program ... Helped Hinds to a MACJC south state runner-up finish as a sophomore, when the team went 7-3 ... Eagles ended the season ranked 15th in the National Junior College Athletic Association poll ... Tallied a team fourth-best 64 tackles as a sophomore to go along with eight pass breakups and a trio of interceptions that netted 63 return yards ... Added one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one kickoff return for 15 yards ... During initial campaign in 2010, booked 49 stops (42 solo), nine tackles for lost yardage and a pair of sacks ... Also returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown in 50-42 win over East Mississippi as a freshman ... Registered 11 pass breakups and five interceptions during junior college career ...
