A physically-strong and imposing figure in the defensive trenches who is expected to take another significant step in career as the early projected starter at nose tackle heading into the 2015 season … Was thrown into the fire early as a true freshman in 2013 and responded favorably despite the lack of collegiate experience … Has played in 19 career contests with one start (2014) and recorded 13 tackles … Was not credited with any stops in the first scrimmage (March 28) or Purple-Gold Game (April 18), but logged four tackles – including one for lost yardage – in the second contest (April 11) … Numbers posted during strength and conditioning testing phase remained consistently impressive … Lifts of note include a 400-pound bench press, a 645-pound back squat, a 308-pound power clean and a 315-pound push jerk … Among defensive line leaders with a 30” vertical leap, a 8’10” broad jump and a shot put throw of 63’ … Added 11 pounds to frame during the 2015 off-season.
