A strong, athletic and physically-imposing defensive standout who has the capability to make a significant impact on the Pirates' front seven ... Hopes to bounce from a back from a limited role in 2011 and an injury-shortened, but productive campaign in 2010 ... Made a return to the familiar end position during the spring after lining up at outside linebacker in East Carolina's "new" 3-4 scheme a year ago (opened Pirate career as an end in a 4-3 look in 2010) ... Finally had the opportunity to compete in his first spring practice period and used a stellar effort to climb to the top of the two-deep heading into junior season ...
