Originally signed with Florida as a highly-touted signal-caller out of High School before transferring to the East Carolina program ... Has also impressed current coaching staff on defensive side of the ball with placement on depth chart as a top backup at one of the exterior slots to enter the season ... Named to Phil Steele's College Football Magazine's 2005 Preseason All-Conference USA unit (third-team) ... Will also serve as a key special teams performer ... 2004: Played in a total of six games off the bench during first active season with ECU program ... Was asked by former coach John Thompson to move to the linebacking unit to add depth after the Louisville game but did not experience action until the Tulane tilt Oct. 9 (special teams appearance) ... Did not record statistics vs. Green Wave ... Starred in JV contest three days later, keying a Pirates' defensive effort with a team-high nine tackles and a sack during ECU's 19-7 win over Hargraves Military Academy at Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium ...
