Head Football Coach Ruffin McNeill Discusses The Start Of Spring Practice

A promising young talent with a physically-imposing stature who used a solid initial spring practice period as a springboard to a two-deep standing as a top reserve at the left tackle position ... Could also experience action on the other side should personnel deficiencies warrant move, and as a member of special teams during first active campaign on the Pirates' roster ... While lift numbers are still in the development stage based on lack of experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning program, he does own one of the top vertical leaps (30") and 40 times (5.15) among all linemen ... Has already added nearly 40 pounds from an announced signing day weight of 250.

2011: Did not experience any game action, but served as a member of the scout team during redshirt season ... Officially signed with the Pirates in February.

High School: Helped Silver Foxes to a 10-3 record, 4-A Region championship and an appearance in the second round of the South Carolina High School League Class AAAA, Division I playoffs as a senior after consecutive 2-9 campaigns the two previous years ... Used as a blocking tight end and interior lineman at Dutch Fork ... Named to the Midlands Football Nov. 3 Team-of-the-Week after making four knockdowns and grading out at 96 percent ... Paved the way for the offense to average 30.1 points per contest during senior season ...
