In position to strengthen and enhance Conference USA honors candidacy as junior after a strong initial season as the Pirates' top placekicker and kickoff specialist a year ago ... Patiently waited for an opportunity behind transfer Mike Barbour during the 2010 and 2011 campaigns and survived a tough start before turning in a record-breaking effort in 2012 ... Coaches cite accuracy, leg strength, maturity and poise as qualities of success ... A 2013 Preseason All-Conference USA selection by Phil Steele's College Football Preview Magazine (fourth team) ... A highly-decorated local athlete who enjoyed an illustrious prep career, lettering in four different sports ... Opened spring scrimmage play with a pair of PATs on April 6 before drilling 45- and 42-yard field goals (and two PATs) a week later ... Was 2-of-2 on extra-point tries during the Purple-Gold Game on April 20 ... Possessed the highest strength and conditioning "flexibility" score of /any member in the Pirate program with a mark of 17 during 2012 testing (14.5 in 2013) ... 2012: An All-Conference USA selection (honorable mention) after converting all 50 PATs and 15-of-20 field goal attempts, which included a career-long 54-yarder at Southern Miss ... Made a career-best eight PATs in the season finale against Marshall ... Led the team with 95 points ... Booked five multi-field goal performances (2-2/UNC, 2-2/UCF, 2-2/MEM, 2-2/UAB, 2-3/UH and 2-2/ULL) ... Delivered first collegiate field goal at South Carolina (23-yarder) ... Accounted for all ECU's scoring at North Carolina (22- and 26-yard FGs) ... Scored a season-high 12 points (4 PATs, 2 FGs) against Houston ... Also had double-digit point totals vs. Memphis (11/5-5 PATs, 2-2 FGs), UAB (10/4-4 PATs, 2-2 FGs), Marshall (11/8-8 PATs, 1-1 FGs) and UL-Lafayette (10/4-4 PATs, 2-2 FGs) ... Seven of 15 field goals made traveled 30-plus yards ... Converted four or more PATs in a game on nine occasions ... Kicked off 75 times for 4,709 yards (62.8 ypko) with 26 touchbacks ... Ranked among league leaders in PAT percentage (1st), kick scoring (6th), field goal percentage (6th), field goals (t6th) and total scoring (9th) ... 2011: Served as Barbour's top backup while on the scout squad during first active season ... Member of dress-out list for home games but was sidelined for the UCF (and following road season finale at Marshall) because of illness.

2010: Officially earned a roster position with the ECU program as a recruited walk-on in the fall and was redshirted, thus did not experience game day action.

High School: Collected a combined 13 varsity letters at J.H. Rose High School, competing in football (four), soccer (four), baseball (three) and swimming (two) ... Selected as the Rampants team MVP in football, soccer and baseball during senior year (2009-10) ... A three-year all-conference and two-year all-county selection as Rose's top placekicker as a sophomore, junior and senior ... Also garnered all-state accolades in 2009 ... Completed prep football career converting 103-of-106 PATs and 24-of-33 FGs for coaches Greg Thomas and Todd Lipe ... Holds school single-game and single-season standards for the longest field goal (50) and most field goals made (14), respectively ... Was promoted to varsity roster as a freshman during the Rampants' run to the state title with a 16-0 record in 2006 ... Father, who played soccer at East Carolina and later was the program's head coach in 1987, also enjoyed a successful prep coaching career (soccer and swimming) at RHS ...
