Projected as the Pirates' starting "will" linebacker heading into sophomore campaign ... Work ethic and assignment-sound approach has fueled rapid development after earning initial roster slot as a walk-on in the fall of 2013 ... Made most of early opportunity by impressing coaching staff as an award-winning scout team performer before contributing significantly to the defensive unit as a top reserve in 2014 ... Also handled top-tier special teams role as a redshirt freshman to earn additional reps ... Efforts and dedication were rewarded by head coach Ruffin McNeill who "promoted" him to full-scholarship status during the summer of 2015 ...
