Currently one of the most successful walk-on stories in the East Carolina program ... Originally joined the Pirates in the fall of 2006, and as a result of work ethic, determination and commitment, was promoted to full scholarship status after the completion of 2010 ... Developed into a notable top-tier special teams performer during the last three seasons and unselfishly made a move from receiver to linebacker with arrival of new coaching staff ... Accepted move with enthusiasm and a sense of purpose, completing spring drills as the projected starter at the strongside linebacker position opposite fellow walk-on Dustin Lineback ... A physical, but quick athlete who possesses uncanny field vision ... Missed the initial spring scrimmage (April 3) due to a leg injury, but bounced back to play in the final two contests ... Recorded three tackles in the second tilt (April 10) before tallying five drops in the Purple-Gold Game (April 17) ... Added a sack for a six-yard loss in the spring finale.

2009: Experienced action in 13 of 14 games, mostly as a special teams' contributor on the kickoff and punt coverage units ... Finished fourth on the squad with eight special teams' stops - seven of those on kickoff returns ... Credited with at least one tackle in seven of 13 games and recorded multiple drops in contests against Rice (two) and Memphis (two) ... Both stops against the Tigers were solo ... Only game missed was the season opener against Appalachian State ... Recognized as a member of the special teams Victors Club (weekly performance-based honor) at the conclusion of the season.

2008: Did not experience any game action but was an important scout team member.

2007: Appeared in two games as a member of the kickoff coverage team, making one tackle against Tulane.

2006: A walk-on who was a valuable member of the scout team.

High School: A three-year letterwinner for Ben Kolstad's Imps ... Also earned letters as a track and field participant.
