Pirates Ready For First Scrimmage At Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium

Wrapped up his first spring practice period earning a place on ECU's preseason two-deep as a reserve at the "sam" outside linebacking position behind returning starter Gabe Woullard ... Expected to experience plenty of action on various special teams squads during first year on the Pirates' active roster ... Booked a tackle during the first spring scrimmage and contributed two more a week later on April 13 ... Had only one hit during the Purple-Gold Game, but made it count as a sack that resulted in a seven-yard loss ... Coaches are looking forward to added development in the strength and conditioning program during his career, especially considering the high ceiling with his 6-foot-4 frame ... Completed spring testing with lifts of 290 pounds (bench press), 264 (power clean) and 245 (push jerk) ... Currently has broad jump capabilities of 110.5" and a 40 time of 4.7.

2012: Redshirted during true freshman campaign in the Pirate program ... Contributed valuable efforts as a member of the scout team after signing with East Carolina in February.
