A sizeable lineman who has provided quality depth on the offensive unit, but has seen the majority of action on special teams … Closed spring workouts officially listed as Ike Harris’ top backup at the left tackle spot for the second-straight season … Made move over from the guard position during the spring of 2014 and has taken a bulk of the reps there the last two practice periods while Harris was sidelined with injuries … In addition to addressing increased strength, work in conditioning program has redefined body style (301 pounds as a signee, 277 as a redshirt freshman, 295 as a sophomore, junior and senior) … Progress was slowed recently because of a shoulder ailment … Owns a bench press of 335 pounds, a back squat of 485 and a push jerk of 296 … Considered a talented and assignment-sound blocker by coaching staff … Attended ECU’s summer camp with high school program.

2014: Played in 10 games as a junior, most all coming as a blocker on special teams … Experienced action against N.C. Central in opener before following with appearances vs. North Carolina, SMU, USF, Connecticut, Temple, Cincinnati, Tulane, Tulsa and Florida in the Birmingham Bowl … Pirates were 7-3 in games in which he played (5-2 in the American Athletic Conference).

2013: Experienced action in five games – Southern Miss, FIU, Tulsa, UAB and NC State – mostly on special teams and as a reserve lineman … Helped the Pirates amass a season-high 625 yards against the Blazers at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium … ECU averaged 50.4 points and 484.4 yards per game in contests in which he appeared (5-0 record).

2012: Did not experience game-day action during first season on the Pirates’ active roster.

2011: Spent true rookie campaign as a redshirt on scout team … Inked with ECU during the traditional early February signing period.

High School: Named to the Associated Press All-State Team as a senior … Selected to the 2010 preseason and post-season NCPreps.com 2A All-State squads … Helped Panthers to an 11-2 record and an 8-0 mark in the Rocky River Conference during final season as a team captain … Team advanced to second round of North Carolina High School Athletic Association 2A playoffs before falling to Phillip O.
