Sharp Passing Effort, Physical Play Dominate Second Scrimmage

Projected to handle the starting strong safety duties again as a senior after quickly securing the position upon transferring into the ECU program last year ... Enrolled early in January of 2012 after inking a letter-of-intent with the Pirates during the December junior college signing period and offered immediate stability to a thin secondary ... Expected to face competition from Lamar Ivey for a second-straight season, but his quickness, athleticism and on-the-field maturity and savvy have allowed coaches to give him an early nod ... Booked four tackles and picked off a pass during the first spring scrimmage before tacking on five more a week later in the second contest on April 13 ... Added three stops, another interception and a pass breakup during the Purple-Gold Game ... Strength and conditioning program testing produced an "excellent" rating with a 325-pound bench press, a 480-pound back squat, a 308-pound power clean, a 280-pound push jerk, 35.5" vertical jump and a 119" broad jump ... His 40 time of 4.46 also marked a positional record.
