Sharp Passing Effort, Rush Defense Dominates Second Scrimmage

Appears ready to take next step of career, becoming a full-time member of ECU’s defensive two-deep as a junior … Closed spring drills officially listed as the top reserve at the field cornerback position, but athleticism could result in action on the boundary side as well … Could also continue to contribute significantly to the Pirates’ special teams units … Has played in five career contests and contributed three stops … Offers a multitude of speed, quickness and a certain savvy to the secondary and on coverage teams … Did not record a tackle during the first abbreviated scrimmage (April 9), but tallied three in the Purple-Gold Game on April 16 … Earned a credible “Iron Pirate” ranking during strength and conditioning spring testing period … Rates as one of fastest members of the unit with a 40 time of 4.41 … Power numbers enjoyed a noticeable increase in the last year with a back squat of 440 pounds and a power clean of 275 … Owns a 10’2” broad jump, a 4.15 pro shuttle time and a flex rating of 13, while 6.77 three-cone drill clip ranked among the top 10 percent of the unit … Competed as a member of ECU’s track and field program as a true and redshirt freshman.

2013: Spent true freshman campaign on the scout unit as a redshirt … Signed with the ECU program in February.

High School: Recorded 34 receptions for 858 yards and 10 touchdowns as one of Patrick Henry High School's top pass catchers while also starting in the Patriots secondary on defense in 2012 ... His 25.2 yards-per-catch average ranked second in the Central Region ... Named First-Team All-Central Region (WR) by VirginiaPreps.com and the Richmond Times Dispatch as a senior ...
