Pirates To Paint It Purple, Gold and Black

April 2, 2014

GREENVILLE, N.C. - With plenty of purple, gold and black on their palette and Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium serving as a canvas, Pirate fans will have the opportunity to "Paint It ..." on three different occasions this fall.

East Carolina released its 2014 football game day color-themed promotional schedule Wednesday and contests against North Carolina Central, North Carolina and Connecticut have been selected during the Pirates' inaugural campaign in the American Athletic Conference.

The season opener against the Eagles on Aug. 30 has been declared a "Paint It Gold" event, while the Pirate Nation is encouraged to "Paint It Purple" when the Tar Heels visit three weeks later on Sept. 20.

East Carolina's second AAC home contest, a nationally-televised Thursday night battle against the Huskies on Oct. 23, will mark the return of the popular "Paint It Black" theme which enjoyed a successful launch during the 2013 season.

All Pirate fans are encouraged to wear the appropriately designated colors on each of those days to support the theme, which will also include strategic elements inside the stadium. Apparel will be available at all ECU Retailer Champion stores locally and regionally.

Season tickets are on sale now with packages starting as low as $150 each. Purchases may be made via ECU's Online Ticket Center or by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500.
