GREENVILLE, N.C. - With the first scrimmage of fall camp behind them, East Carolina Head Football Coach Ruffin McNeill and the Pirates returned to the Cliff Moore Practice Complex Sunday morning for a two-hour corrective workout in full pads.

Following film evaluation of Saturday's contest, McNeill reiterated his post-game comments by citing execution, offensive ball security and defensive resiliency as items he was most pleased with.

"I was happy with our execution, especially considering it was our first time in the stadium," McNeill said. "There aren't any complaints any time you can limit the turnovers to zero on offense, and defensively, the ability to rebound after a bad play and remain focused on the task at hand is a positive."

In one respect, McNeill and his staff extended Saturday's scrimmage by devoting nearly 30 minutes to an up-tempo team-on-team period Sunday after the offense and defense spent over 15 minutes in skeleton drills. The offensive skelly segment included redzone and goal-line plays for skill players while the line continued work on pass rush protection.

"I liked the way we worked and where our focus was today," McNeill said. "It was a good day, but we still have a lot of work do to."

The Pirates will endure their second of three two-a-day schedules Monday morning and afternoon before observing their first off day of camp Tuesday. ECU will return to the practice complex for a single session Wednesday and head into scrimmage preparation with its final two-a-day of the preseason Thursday.
