Welcome to St. Petersburg, Fla., the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl and All Hands On Deck, the official blog of this week's bowl trip.
It's our hope that we can bring you the sights and sounds of St. Petersburg and the Pirates' bowl preparation through the eyes of the players, coaches and East Carolina support staff via photo galleries, practice highlights and interviews - all leading up to ECU's matchup with Ohio on Monday, Dec. 23 inside Tropicana Field.
The Pirates' landed in Florida during the late afternoon touching down around 4:30 p.m. after a smooth 90 minute flight. Upon arrival and check-in at the team hotel, Coach McNeill, Shane Carden and Jeremy Grove conducted a couple interviews before the Pirates boarded a bus for its evening practice, which was held at Clearwater Central Catholic High School. Following the 75-minute workout and media obligations, it was back to the hotel and time for dinner and some down time.
Friday's schedule is set to begin for the team with a morning lift at 9 a.m., followed by meetings before departing for Clearwater Central Catholic High School for an afternoon practice at 1 p.m. The team will have its first bowl function of the week around 5 p.m. when they jump on a boat for a two-hour cruise before some free time.
