Pirates In Fifth At The UTSA Oak Hills Invitational

SAN ANTONIO --- The East Carolina men's golf team stands alone in fifth-place after the first two rounds of play at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational at Oak Hills Country Club. The Pirates have a 36-hole score of 32-over 600 (310-290), 21 shots back of 13th-ranked Oklahoma, which fired an 11-over 579 to lead the field.
The 30th-ranked Baylor Bears are in second-place, one stroke back of their Big XII rival. Conference USA newcomer North Texas is in third-place at 21-over 589 followed by Louisiana at 26-over 594 in fourth-place.
ECU holds a one stroke lead over host UTSA, whose in sixth-place and a two stroke advantage over seventh-place Tulsa.
The Pirates were led by senior Eric Brady, who finished the day in eighth-place with a 3-over 145 (74, 71). Sophomore Wes Conover sits five shots back of his teammate tied for 13th at 5-over 147 (75-72). George Kilgore shot rounds of 7-over and 5-over to finish in 48th and Al Dickens concluded his day with a second round 74 after posting an opening round 83. Senior Ryan Eibner carded a 3-over 74 in round two after shooting 89 in his first round of the spring.
The overall individual lead is shared by Baylor's Kyle Jones and Oklahoma's Michael Schoolcraft at 2-under 140. North Texas' Jason Roets was the only other player not to shoot over-par, carding an even-142.
Round three has been changed to a 9:30 a.m. CT shotgun start due to inclement weather in Tuesday's forecast.
