Pirates Lead Field At Tiger Invitational After Round One

OPELIKA, Ala. - The East Carolina men's golf team is in first-place following round one of the Tiger Invitational being played at the Grand National Lake Course. The Pirates carded a 2-over 290 on the initial 18 holes Monday and hold a two-stroke lead over Mississippi State heading into Tuesday's final two rounds.
Play was suspended following the completion of the first round due to adverse weather conditions. Round two will begin with a shotgun start Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. CDT followed by round three.
Kennesaw State and Wake Forest are tied for third-place, three shots back of ECU with Charlotte rounding out the top 5, five shots back.
ECU senior Zach Edmondson, along with Wake Forest's Evan Beck, sits one stroke back of individual leader Michael Garretson of South Alabama. Garretson carded an opening round 3-under 69, while Beck and Edmondson each shot 2-under 70.
Pirate junior Ryan Eibner is three strokes off the lead and tied for sixth-place after shooting par 72 Monday. Freshman Jacob Hicks is a mere four strokes out of first-place and is tied for 13th at 1-over 73. Freshman Grayson Murray carded a 5-over 77.
