Men's Golf in Ninth After Two Round At Irish Creek Collegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The East Carolina men's golf team shot rounds of 294 and 289 and is in ninth place out of 17 teams after the first two rounds of the Irish Creek Collegiate that were played on Saturday.

The event is being played at the par-71, 7,099-yard Club at Irish Creek and is ECU's first tournament since the Pirates competed at the Seahawk Intercollegiate on March 16-17 in Wilmington.

Senior Eric Brady shot 2-over 73 in the morning and followed it with a 1-under 70 and is tied for 13th place with a 36-hole total of 143, while sophomore George Kilgore is tied for 22nd at 145 (72-73). Fellow sophomore Wes Conover fired a 149 to finish the day tied for 52nd with Stephen Lavenets tied for 69th at 152 (74-78). Senior Ryan Eibner fired a 72 in the afternoon after shooting an 82 to start the day and ended the day in 80th position with a 154.

North Florida and Georgia State are tied for first-place with a 570. Co-host Charlotte is one stroke back in third-place at 571. UNF's MJ Maguire and Charlotte's Thomas Rowland are tied atop the individual leaderboard at 137.

The final round of the event will be played on Sunday morning.
