Pirates In 12th After Day One Of Irish Creek Collegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. --- East Carolina junior Ryan Eibner shot a 71 and 72 to finish for a 1-over 143 and tied for 13th after day one of the Irish Creek Collegiate at the The Club at Irish Creek Saturday. The Pirates are in 12th-place at 23-over 591 (292-299).
North Carolina leads the field at 1-under 567 (282-285), four strokes ahead of second-place Davidson at 3-over 571 (289-282). North Carolina State (292-280) and UNC Wilmington (289-283) are tied for third at 4-over 572. Kennesaw State rounds out the top 5 at 10-over 578 (288-290).
Pirate junior Eric Brady carded a 4-over 176 (74-72) to finish tied for 27th. Senior Zach Edmondson fired a 6-over 148 (70-78) to finish tied for 41st with freshman George Kilgore shooting a 12-over 154 (77-77) to tie for 73rd. The overall individual lead belongs to Davidson's Richard Fountain at 6-under 136 (70-66). Jimmy Beck (67-70=137) of Kennesaw State is one stroke behind Fountain with UNC's Michael McGown (69-69=138) two strokes back.
The teams will resume play Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
