KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- The East Carolina men's golf team carded a final round 13-over 297 on Sunday at the Club at Irish Creek to finish in ninth place at the Irish Creek Collegiate. The Pirates concluded the tournament with a 54-hole tally of 880 (+28), finishing just one stroke out of eighth-place.
Senior Eric Brady recorded the lowest total score for ECU as he finished tied for 12th with a 3-over 213 (73-70-73). Sophomores George Kilgore and Wes Conover each finished inside the top 30 as well. Kilgore carded a 7-over 220 (72-73-75) to tie for 25th, while Conover tied for 30th with a 9-over 222 (75-74-73). Senior Ryan Eibner tied for 75th with final overall score of 230 and sophomore Stephen Lavenets finished tied for 81st with a 232.
Georgia State claimed the team title with a 54-hole total of 7-over 859, one stroke ahead of second-place North Florida. UNF's M.J. Maquire won medalist honors with a total of 8-under 205.
The Pirates return to action Friday, April 11, at the River Landing Intercollegiate in Wallace, N.C.
