WALLACE, N.C. --- Junior Markus Leandersson carded an even-par 72 as East Carolina posted an opening round 294 at the River Landing Intercollegiate at the 7,112-yard River Landing Golf Course on Friday.

The opening round was delayed 90 minutes due to heavy fog this morning.

Leandersson fired a three-under-par on the front nine before shooting three-over on the back nine to fall into a 14th place tie. Senior Anthony Reale and junior Andre Thorsen each carded a one-over-par 73 to hold a share of 25th place. Sophomore Tanner Briele and freshman Warren Straub each fired a four-over-par 76.

Florida State and Duke each carded a team round of four-under-par 284 to share the lead entering the final 36 holes. Maryland is two strokes back of the leaders at two-under-par, while Wake Forest trails the Seminoles and Blue Devils by three strokes at one-uner-par. NC State rounds out the top five at even-par. East Carolina is in seventh place at six-over.

North Carolina's Kevin O'Connell and Wake Forest's Webb Simpson are tied for the individual lead at five-under-par. Jonas Blixt of FSU is tied with Duke's Clark Klaasen and Michael Schachner for third place at four-under par with eight other individuals all within four strokes of the lead.

Round two is scheduled to begin Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
