ECU Moves Into Ninth-Place at C-USA Championships

TEXARKANA, Ark. --- The East Carolina men's golf team is tied for ninth-place after two rounds of play at the 2013 Conference USA Championships being held at the par-72, 6,935-yard Texarkana Country Club.
The Pirates shot 10-over 298 for the second straight day and stand at 20-over 596 for the championship, tied with Southern Miss. Houston and SMU, each ranked in Golfstat's top 30, are tied for the team lead at 10-under 566. UCF is in third-place with a par score of 576.
ECU junior Eric Brady shot 72 Monday to move into the top-15 at 1-over 145 (73-72), tied for 14th. Brady recorded three birdies and three bogeys with 12 pars in round two. He was 1-under through 17 before he bogeyed the final hole to finish the day at even par.
Junior Ryan Eibner fired a 2-over 74 for the second consecutive round to move to 4-over 148 for the tournament, tied for 27th. Freshman Stephen Lavenets shot 3-over on the day with fellow freshman George Kilgore carding a 5-over 77. Lavenets is tied for 44th at 9-over 151 (76-75), while Kilgore is in 46th at 10-over 152 (75-77). Senior Zach Edmondson sits in 60th at 21-over 163 (81-82).
Bryson Dechambeau of SMU holds a one-stroke lead over Houston's Roman Robledo for individual medalist honors. Dechambeau is 8-under (68-68-136) through 36 holes with Robledo completing the first two rounds at 7-under 137 (72-65).
ECU will play alongside Rice and Old Dominion in Tuesday's final round beginning at 9 a.m. EDT.
