Pirates Conclude Season At Cavalier Classic

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. --- East Carolina concluded the 2007-08 season with a two-round total of 35-over-par (318-293=611) to finish 14th at Cavalier Classic Sunday. The 21-team tournament was held at the par 72, 6,879-yard Birdwood Golf Course.
Virginia won the team title with a final score of one-under-par (282-293=575). Augusta State finished second three strokes behind (287-291=578), followed by NC State (291-293=584), Longwood (295-296=591) and Old Dominion (294-298=592) to round out the top five.
Henrik Norlander of Augusta State earned medalist honors by shooting five-under-par (71-68=139), edging Virginia's Greg Carlin (69-71=140) and NC State's Brad Revell (70-70=140) by one stroke.
ECU junior Andre Thorsen fired a seven-over-par (80-71=151) to tie for 37th. Sophomore Tanner Briele finished with a score of eight-over-par (81-71=152), freshman Warren Straub carded a nine-over (80-73=153), and junior Markus Leandersson shot 11-over (77-78=155).
