RALEIGH, N.C. --- East Carolina senior Eric Brady is tied for 28th after 36 holes of play at the NCAA Men's Golf Championship regional at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the Centennial Campus of NC State University. He carded a 2-over 73 in round two Friday, dropping to 1-over for the tournament (70-73=143).
Brady began the day by playing the final 10 holes to complete the first round, which was halted on Thursday due to inclement weather. He stood at 2-under through 12 holes before back-to-back bogeys on 13 and 14 brought him back to even-par. Brady made three pars and one birdie on the final four holes to conclude round one at 1-under 70, tied for 15th.
After shooting a 1-under on the front nine in round one, it played very differently for the Cary, N.C. native in round two. Brady shot 4-over on the first nine holes of the second round with four bogeys following eight pars and one birdie on the front nine in the first round. Two birdies on the first four holes of the back nine brought Brady back to 3-over before three straight pars.
He then made a hole-in-one on the par 3, 135-yard 17 to drop his score to 1-over. It was the first ace of the season by an ECU golfer.
Brady completed the day with another bogey on 18, his sixth of the round, to finish at 2-over. He will begin third round play at 9:20 a.m. Saturday playing alongside Bethune Cookman's Ryan Fricker and Winthrop's Zach Seabolt.
