RALEIGH, N.C. --- East Carolina senior Eric Brady fired a final round 1-over 72 Saturday at the NCAA Men's Golf Championship regional at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the Centennial Campus of NC State University to bring his collegiate career to a close. Brady finished tied for 20th at 2-over 215 (70-73-72).
Brady registered 14 pars and two birdies, but a bogey on two and double bogey on 11 left him at 1-over for the day. In total, Brady shot par or better on 44 of the 54 holes during the three round tournament, which included an ace on No. 17 during round two.
This was the final intercollegiate tournament for Brady, who concluded his career ranked fifth all-time on the school's scoring average at 73.80. He recorded seven top 10 finishes in 30 events with a first-place at the 2013 Pirate Intercollegiate at the Greenville Country Club Brook Valley course. He was just the third player to participate as an individual at the NCAA regional championships.
Individual medalist honors went to Washington's Jonathan Sanders with a 10-under 203. The teams of Washington, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Georgia Tech and Florida State along with Cyrus Stewart of Wake Forest advanced to the national championship finals which will be conducted May 23-28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas.
