DURHAM, N.C. --- The East Carolina's men's golf team carded a two-under par 574 to finish tied for seventh place after the first 36 holes of competition at the Coca-Cola Duke Golf Classic being held at the Duke Golf Club (par 72/7,105 yards). The Pirates are tied with rival UNC Wilmington and trail tournament leader (and 20th-ranked) Duke by 14 strokes in the 15-team field entering Monday's final round.

Senior Chris Ault shot a two-under par 142 (71-71) to earn a share of 10th place through two rounds. Freshman Warren Straub (74-70) was one of 13 players to shoot even-par 144 and is tied for 23rd place. Sophomore Tripp Brizendine shot a one-over par 145 (73-72) and is tied for 37th. Junior Andre Thorsen fired a two-over 146 (69-76), while classmate Markus Leandersson carded a four-over 148.

Jonathan Hodge of UT Chattanooga and Michael Schachner of Duke are tied for the overall lead at seven-under par with 12 other players within four shots of the lead.

East Carolina will be back on the course Monday morning for the final round of the Coca-Cola Duke Classic.
