DURHAM, N.C. --- The East Carolina men's golf team finished seventh at the fourth annual Rod Meyers Invitational which was completed Sunday at the par-72, 7,154-yard Duke Golf Club. The Pirates fired an 8-over 296 Sunday to finish with a three round total of 10-over 874, 20 strokes behind team champion Northwestern who shot 10-under 854.
Senior Eric Brady shot 3-under 213 to tie for eighth overall, posting his first top-10 finish of the season. Fellow senior Ryan Eibner, who entered the final round, tied for 20th, shot a final round 74 to tie for 22nd overall at 4-over 220. Sophomores Al Dickens and Wes Conover fired 6 and 7-over, respectively, to each finish in the top-40 of 66-player field. Sophomore George Kilgore tallied a 20-over 236.
Northwestern's Matt Fitzpatrick and Jack Perry tied for individual medalist honors at 9-under 207.
ECU will return to the links Oct. 28-29 as it hosts the Pirate Invitational at Brook Valley Country Club.
