Millican Tied For 21st After First Round Play At Liz Murphey Collegiate
03/25/2005 ATHENS, GA.– The East Carolina women's golf team carded a first round score of 324 and sit in 16th place at the prestigious Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,228-yard University of Georgia Golf Club in Athens, Georgia. The Pirates (74-32-2) sit 20 strokes out of fifth place heading into second round action and are 26 strokes behind host school and current leader Georgia (298). Following the Lady Bulldogs are LSU (300), Tulane and Wake Forest (301) and Auburn (304) round out the top-five. In the individual portion of the event, there is a three-way tie atop the leader board with Ashley Hoagland (Wake Forest), Stacy Lewis (Arkansas) and Lisa Tyler (Georgia) all sitting at even-par. For the Pirates, senior Adrienne Millican is tied for 21st after posting a round of 76. Fellow teammate Heidi Helliesen is tied for 39th just two strokes back at 78.
