GREENVILLE, N.C. --- East Carolina senior golfer Eric Brady was named to the Division I PING All-East Region Team announced the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Thursday. It's the first time that he has been named to the team.
Brady is the fourth ECU golfer to earn all-region honors since 2011: Adam Stephenson (2012), Harold Varner (2011, '12) and David Watkins (2011).
The Cary, N.C. native led the Pirates with a 73.34 scoring average, 10th lowest single-season average in school history. He recorded four top 10 finishes and became just the third ECU player to receive an individual invitational to the NCAA Championships.
In addition, Brady led the team with 15 rounds of par or better (out of 38 rounds) and was the team's top individual in five tournaments, including a victory at the Pirate Intercollegiate. Brady earned Conference USA Golfer-of-the-Week three times during the season.
Brady is one of just 157 golfers named to the Ping All-Region Teams in NCAA Division I. Six regional teams were named for the Central, East, Midwest, Northeast, Southeast and West portions of the country.
