Pair of Lady Pirate Golfers Finish In Top 10 of Wildcat Invitational
10/05/2003

LEXINGTON, KY. -- East Carolina's Jessica Krasny and Adrienne Millican finished in the top 10 of the Wildcat Fall Invitational, which was being played at the par-72, 6,052-yard at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.

Krasny posted a final round 80 to finish with a score of 233 (75-78-80) to finish in a tie for sixth place with Camilla Hilland of Miami (Fla.), while Millican shot a two-over par 74 to claim a share of ninth place with a final tournament score of 235 (82-79-74).

Louisville's Meghan Little (76-73-78=227) captured the tournament championship in a playoff hole against Chris Brady (76-78-73=227) of Vanderbilt. Amanda Mathis finished one stroke behind the leaders for third place.

The Pirates (31-11-1) finished the tournament in a tie for fifth place out of 18 teams. ECU's score of 959 was 33 shots behind Vanderbilt (311-312-303=926), the tournament champions. Mississippi State finished second with a 941 final score, while instate rival, UNC Wilmington, claimed third place with a final round of 318 to end up with a final score of 946.

"Conditions were a bit difficult today," said ECU assistant head coach Jonathan Hill. "It was windy and the greens were faster than what we are use to. We missed a couple of short putts today that could have moved us into the top three. But overall we played solid and Jessica (Krasny) and Adrienne (Millican) played some good golf."

The Lady Pirates will return to action on Oct. 13-14, when they host the Lady Pirate Fall Intercollegiate at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C.
