Jessica Krasny In First At Lady Pirate Fall Intercollegiate
10/13/2003 GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Senior Jessica Krasny fired a 36-hole two-under par 142 (73-69), which included a hole-in-one to take the lead at the Third Annual Lady Pirate Fall Intercollegiate golf tournament. The tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,093-yard course at Bradford Creek Country Club in Greenville, N.C. Krasny's hole-in-one on the par three 145-yard 11th helped put a four stroke difference between herself and the second place spot, which is occupied by Mississippi State's Amanda Mathis (71-74=145) and fellow Pirates Adrienne Millican (70-75=145). Sitting in fourth is Western Carolina's Brandy Anderson, who sits five strokes off the lead at 146 (72-74). The Pirates (31-11-1) are one of 17 teams participating in this year's tournament along with: Augusta State, College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina (No. 45), East Tennessee State, Elon, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Longwood, Methodist, Mississippi State (No. 26), Old Dominion, Purdue (No. 31), Richmond, UNC Greensboro, and Western Carolina. ECU is currently leading the team section of the tournament after a two-round total of 591 (296-295). Nationally ranked Mississippi State is in second place, four strokes off the lead with rounds of 300 and 295 (595), while the College of Charleston is in third with a 596 (301-295). Fellow Pirate Margaret Mitchell is tied for 20th after posting a 150 (74-76). "I am really pleased with the way we played today," said ECU head coach Kevin Williams. "We will have to play well tomorrow to win this tournament again. There are some good teams that are behind us and if we slip up, they will catch us quickly." Final round action will begin Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at Bradford Creek. Top Pirate Finishes Top Individual Finishes Top Team Finishes
