Men's Swimming Falls To UMBC

BALTIMORE, Md. --- After suffering its first loss of the season a week ago, the East Carolina women's swimming and diving team rebounded to post a 129-114 victory over UMBC on Saturday and improved to 7-1 overall.
The men's team sustained its second consecutive loss, falling 95-143 to the Retrievers and dropped to 4-2 on the season.
Sophomore Rebecca Perry led the Pirates by claiming a pair of first place finishes. Perry won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.20 and was followed by teammates Jennie Meade and Meghan Brosi in second and third place.
Perry also placed first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.64, .60 off the school record.
Senior Adrienne Williams touched first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.23 and helped the 400-yard medley relay to a first place finish along with Allison Miller, Kelly Shinton and Amanda Duncan.
In addition to a relay victory, Miller picked up first place in the 200 back with a time of 2:05.90.
Yasinsac beat teammate Christoph Lubenau by 0.13 to win the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.64
Neville won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:53.19
Both teams return to action Saturday, January 28 against Duke. The meet is schedule for 1 o'clock in Minges Aquatic Center.
