Pirates Season Ends With C-USA First Round Loss
April 19, 2012 ORLANDO, Fla. - The East Carolina men's tennis team had its season come to an end on Thursday afternoon losing to UCF 4-0 in the first round of the Conference USA Men's Tennis Championships. East Carolina finishes the 2012 season with an overall record of 13-11, while UCF moves to 10-12, and will play Tulsa in the quarterfinals Friday. UCF won all four of its matches in straight sets at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 6 spots. Erik Brunskog captured the first point with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Niels Cleeren at No. 2 before Jorge Blasco defeated Joran Vliegen by the same score at No. 1. Nicolas Soriano fell 0-6, 2-6 at No. 3 before Joe Delinks closed out the match with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Mario Martinez at No. 6.
