GREENVILLE, N.C. - After playing two matches on the road last week, the East Carolina men's tennis team returns home to the River Birch Tennis Center to play a pair of matches this weekend. The Pirates host UNCG Thursday at 1:30 p.m., before closing out the weekend Sunday against Presbyterian at 12 p.m.
East Carolina has won its last three matches begins the weekend with a 13-4 overall record while UNCG is 7-4 on the year. Presbyterian owns a 19-3 record and will play at Campbell on Saturday before coming to Greenville the following day.
Currently ECU is being led by senior Joran Vliegen who owns an 11-2 dual match record and is 19th in the latest ITA singles rankings. Freshman Fredric Lehfeldt has the most dual match singles wins with a 12-4 mark. Damien Brenard and Mario Martinez have 10 wins apiece.
After the matches this weekend, the ECU men's tennis team begins a four-match road trip where the Pirates will first face College of Charleston (March 28) and Charlotte (March 29) in Charleston, S.C., before making trips to Richmond (April 2) and UNC Wilmington (April 5).
