GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina men's tennis team improved to 11-3 on the season following a 6-1 victory over Richmond here Friday afternoon. The Pirates won the doubles point and the No. 1-4 singles flights.

ECU began action by taking the doubles point with a clean sweep. Chad Meyer and Darren Mansell won flight one, 8-3. The No. 2 flight team of Nick Rose and Paulo Baumer posted a 9-8 victory, while the No. 3 flight duo of Mark Gellard and Felipe Forseca recorded an 8-6 win.

Meyer, Baumer, Mansell and Fonseca each posted straight set victories in the top four flights. Gerrard Galindo also won in straight sets at the No. 6 flight, while Gellard was forced to retire due to injury at the No. 5 flight after winning the first set.

The Pirates return to action Saturday morning against Arkansas-Little Rock at 10 a.m.
