RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State rallied in singles to take a 5-2 win over visiting East Carolina on Thursday afternoon at the Cary Tennis Center. The Pirates struck early and won the doubles point by taking two of the three matches, but the Wolfpack (7-6) answered the bell in singles action, and sealed its second consecutive win with victories in five matches.
Kristin Lam was the last to come off of the court, but battled for her best win of the season in flight one. Myrna Bawono exited court four seconds later with a 6-2, 6-0 flogging of Paulina Sierpinski. ECU's Lyndall Jordan scored the only singles point for the Pirates in the flight two match. She defeated Danielle Stadelmann, 6-4. 6-1. Jennifer Jassawalla clinched the match for NC State with a win in the five spot over Emily Kohl, 7-5, 6-1.
