East Carolina Men's Tennis Wins Seven At South Carolina Fall Invitational
Oct. 18, 2005 COLUMBIA, S.C. - The East Carolina men's tennis squad picked up seven wins at the University of South Carolina Fall Invitational last weekend at the Sam Daniels Tennis Center. The duo of senior Nick Rose and freshman Brian Walters captured two doubles matches, posting wins over Belmont's Fausto Rocha and Javier Rodriguez as well as Armstrong Atlantic's David Secker and Davor Zink. Freshman Aleksey Kochetov added two singles triumphs after knocking off Furman's Ryan Friend and South Carolina State's Dragan Bisercic. Rose also notched a victory in singles action with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 decision over Singh Chatwinder of Francis Marion. In addition, sophomores Henrique Viana and Ricardo Barone each picked up wins for the Pirates in tourney action. East Carolina will close out its fall schedule this weekend by competing at the ITA Regionals in Chapel Hill.
