Lady Pirate Track Team Returns to Action at Chapel Hill
01/15/2004

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina's women's track and field team will see its first action of 2004 this Saturday as the Lady Pirates participate in the Tar Heel Fast Times meet, held in Chapel Hill, N.C.

A select group of ECU athletes will compete in the meet, as Pirates will be involved in the vaulting and throwing events as well as the distance races.

Saturday's indoor competition will be held at the University of North Carolina's Dick Taylor Track in the Eddie Smith Field House. Competition is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.

ECU opened its indoor season in December at the CNU Lidlifter Classic, where junior Tammie Mentzel and true freshman Lindsey Rosales both set a new ECU indoor record in the pole vault at 11-6.

The Lady Pirates will participate in their first full-squad meet Jan. 23-24 at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
